Wheat germ fermented extract has been proven to have anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer effects in Hungary, and its mechanism of action has been elucidated. It has been named AVEMAR and is listed as a subsidized drug by the government.
When cells are treated with wheat germ fermented extract, the activity of the inflammatory inducers cyclooxygenase (COX)-1 and COX-2 is inhibited.
